The tiny hamlet of Les Brugues, in the Dordogne (Dept 24) is just minutes from
the fairytale Chateau de Biron and the beautiful Bastide towns of Monpazier,
Villereal, Monflanquin and Beaumont.
Les Brugues is the ideal property for a family or friends who wish to holiday in
rural tranquillity, yet be within easy reach of a host of restaurants, markets,
tourist attractions and every conceivable sporting/recreational facility. For
wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers, Les Brugues is a paradise. Deer and wild
boar abound Bird life is
abundant and varied: Buzzards, Hawks, Kites, Barn Owls, Jays Hoopoes
and Redstarts are all regular visitors to the garden and the antics of the tiny
sun-loving lizards will keep you amused for hours. Woodland walking is a
particular delight with a myriad of tree and plant species to be found at every
step. During the month of May the surrounding fields are awash with a stunning
array of wild orchids. In September/October, the surrounding countryside
reverberates with the sound of the ‘brame’ - the rutting season for the stag
population. Often, at sunset, you can occasionally catch sight of these magnificent creatures
silhouetted against the skyline.
Kitchen/Living Area
Spacious, fully equipped kitchen area with built in electric oven and microwave,
gas hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The living area
is delightfully furnished with focal point log burning stove and original
exposed beams. Floor to ceiling glazing floods the room with light and gives
access to a sunny breakfasting terrace. Television, CD player, books and games
are provided.

A very spacious double bedroom with its own south facing terrace overlooking the
pool area. Exposed stonework and original oak ceiling beams make this a room of
character and charm and its south facing aspect offers delightful views across
rolling countryside. The room is tastefully furnished and decorated and is
adjacent to its own bathroom with corner bath and shower over.

Les Brugues is a comfortably appointed holiday home offering the perfect blend
of rural tranquillity, modern facilities and proximity to the widest possible
range of interests and activities. A broad choice of excellent restaurants is
within easy reach. Local markets are a delight and the area is, of course,
renowned for its cuisine, regional specialities (such as duck, pate, foie gras)
and delicious inexpensive wines.
The Owners
Les Brugues is owned and has been lovingly restored by Frank and Julie Mosley.
Frank and Julie, originally from Scotland, have lived in the region for some
years and speak French fluently. The live discretely (and discreetly) in their
own converted barn at Les Brugues but are dedicated to providing their guests
with every assistance, if required, to ensure a memorable holiday in this very
special part of France.
